The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is Australia’s largest professional general practice organisation and represents urban and rural general practitioners. The RACGP supports GPs, general practice registrars and medical students through its principal activities of education, training and research.
The RACGP run numerous courses and events throughout the year and they came to us to develop the theme for their upcoming Users and Addicts conference. We came up with a fun theme using different characters to represent each of the monsters of addiction.
To help engage the audience with a quite serious topic of drug addiction, we came up with a fun idea of using different characters to represent each of the monsters of addiction; Alcohol, Opioids, Psychostimulants, BZD (Benzos), and Nicotine. The cute set of characters was not only engaging, but they helped explain, easily at a glance, what the 5 addictions were. The characters were used across the entire event including the website that we also developed, along with digital and print media, flyers, posters, binder covers, and inserts, and were used in advertising materials leading up to the event.
The project was rolled out across the website and digital media, workbooks, flyers and printed marketing collateral.
A cute set of characters were developed to help explain easily at a glance what the 5 addictions were. These Characters who went on to win a Gold and 2 Silver in the MUSE Creative Awards and Indigo Design Awards.
