The National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health (NCEIDH) plays a crucial national role in improving the quality of healthcare for people with intellectual disability. Our partnership with NCEIDH spans projects that support this mission through clear, accessible and evidence‑informed communication.

The Health Plan Toolkit: A Large‑Scale Accessible Resource Suite

The final toolkit included 18 documents plus 5 interactive PDFs, all visually consistent, simple to use and intentionally designed for accessibility.
To meet NCEIDH’s requirement for the highest accessibility and usability standards, we applied a rigorous design and content approach grounded in best‑practice accessibility.

As part of a collaborative project between 3DN (Department of Developmental Disability Neuropsychiatry) and NCEIDH, we were involved in designing two concise, interactive, double‑sided clinical frameworks: one for adult treatment and the other for adolescent treatment.

The frameworks balance clinical density with simplicity. The traffic light structure provides an at‑a‑glance guide that helps healthcare professionals quickly identify risk levels and required actions. Layout and hierarchy were carefully designed to ensure that essential information is always visible and unambiguous.
